What's one piece of advice you have for women to lead and break through the glass ceiling in the entertainment industry?

My mom always said this to me, “If you want something, go get it.” If there’s a role you want, a story you want to tell, a room you want to be in—go after it. Ask the question. Send the email. Do the out of the box thing to get noticed. It doesn’t guarantee you’ll get the “yes,” but it guarantees you’re in motion. And in any industry, momentum matters. Plus, you learn interesting things and meet interesting people in motion!

What advice do you hope to pass down to the next generation of young women stepping into their careers?

GO AFTER EVERYTHING YOU WANT. ABSOLUTELY ALL OF IT.

What has been your biggest lesson in resilience and reinvention throughout your career?

When I worked at Entertainment Tonight Online, I used to stay late and go through their 40+ years of archived interview footage to learn. I’d take notes, study how people told their stories, and how the interviewers asked questions. I remember watching an interview with J.Lo where she said the only difference between her and someone else who didn’t make it was that she didn’t give up. Resilience, to me, is the thing.

Has your definition of success evolved throughout your career? What does success look like to you today?

It has absolutely evolved! When I started out, I was so hungry—hungry to learn, to meet people, to get in the room and actually ask the questions… to do the thing. But over time, I’ve realized that while the dream and the goal are important—they’re really just fuel. What matters most is who you become while striving for the thing. That growth, that stretch, that becoming—that’s the real success. But I don’t think it’s something you can learn right away. You almost have to chase the dream to discover that the process is the point.

Who are a few women founders and/or women-owned businesses that you're excited about?

I'm excited about women-led EVERYTHING. If women ran the airlines, my luggage would never be lost and my snacks would be artisanal.
